Hey, it's Kelly. And this is a new episode of Advice for people creating a small business. As I shared yesterday, I have a goal right now to create a new episode each day this week. And I'm not gonna lie, it's 7:22pm on Tuesday, and in my mind, I would be recording this podcast say at 7:22am. But I'll be really honest, I had a full day of working with members of my small business incubator people who I mentor, and I did not have time earlier to record. Now, I did go for a long walk this morning to get coffee, because that really helps clear my head. So you could say maybe I didn't have to do that and record in the morning when I wanted to. But I prioritize something that, for me brings a lot of clarity and gets me out of my house. I'm, as I shared yesterday, like in this awkward in between in between moves, and I need to like get out of the house and walk. And I enjoy it. It helps me clear my mind.
And I prioritize that honestly, over this. However, I set a goal for myself to record an episode each day, and there was a part of me where like, is anyone really gonna care if I record a podcast episode, right. And I think a lot of us have this pressure of how we need to show up and how we feel like, you know, everyone is expecting us to show up. However, what I like to always remind people and something I remind myself is, how do you personally want to show up today? Like, what do you want to have as a win? So for me, even though this is late, and ideally, you would have gotten this episode in the morning, I wanted to make sure I still did it. And for me, it's that momentum, it's building that momentum, it's taking a next step, even if it doesn't look perfect, or it's a little bit messy and sloppy. And you are, you know, you want to refine it, but at least you did it. And something that I've been thinking about a lot is a interview I did with Molly Whoa, yesterday on Instagram, which was so awesome. being interviewed by her someone I admire. And I've, I am in her mentoring program. And we were talking about finding clarity through action. And I actually have goosebumps saying that right now, I genuinely believe that you are able to find that clarity, that momentum, that consistency by taking the next step, by taking action, by allowing yourself to show up even if it isn't perfect, or what you wanted it to be, but you still showed up. And what I've learned over the years is that
that allows it to come together. There's only so much you could think about there's so much so much strategy you could write down by by taking those actions, those small actions, you can start building that momentum. So for me, that is this podcast today, it's a reminder of even if it doesn't look perfect, even if it's not exactly what you wanted. What is that next step that you could take? And I hope that my late Well, what I consider a late podcast episode, even though maybe you notice I've recorded or not, that wasn't really the point it was more so for myself to follow through with something I'm really passionate about. And even if it wasn't perfect, still doing it. And that's the moral of tonight, quick and simple. But again, I want this podcast to be this place where you could have these real conversations, you could ask questions, and get advice on creating our small business, and really doing it in a way that feels good to you. Another shout out to
blooming minds. I was interviewed on blooming minds podcast today by Jess. And we talked a lot about the inner work that has to do with entrepreneurship and small business. So for me, a lot of it is getting over. Getting over Honestly, I was overthinking the podcast and it's so ironic because I tell so many people like stop overthinking it, but then here I am overthinking my podcasts. And so also too This is for me to flex that muscle and build that muscle of not needing it to be perfect, but to keep just doing it. Okay, I'll leave it there short and sweet. I'll see you tomorrow and I hope this foundry well thanks for listening!
